Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of terms

These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of Ryu. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use Ryu.

2. The service

Ryu is a personal finance app for recording transactions, setting budgets, splitting bills, attaching receipts, and viewing spending insights. We may add, change, or remove features over time to improve the service.

3. Your account

• You must provide accurate information and keep your credentials secure.
• You are responsible for activity that happens under your account.
• You must be old enough to form a binding contract in your country to use Ryu.
• Notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorized use of your account.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Break the law or infringe others' rights while using Ryu.
• Attempt to access accounts, data, or systems that are not yours.
• Probe, scan, or disrupt the service, or bypass its security or rate limits.
• Upload malware, or content you have no right to upload.
• Reverse engineer or resell the service except where the law expressly permits.

5. Your content and data

You own the financial data and receipt images you add to Ryu. You grant us a limited license to store and process this content solely to operate the service for you. How we handle your data is described in our Privacy Policy.

6. Subscriptions and billing

• Ryu offers a free tier and paid plans. Paid features are described at checkout.
• Subscriptions are billed in advance on a recurring basis through our payments provider and renew automatically until cancelled.
• You can cancel at any time; access to paid features continues until the end of the current billing period.
• Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable. Prices may change with notice for future billing periods.

7. No financial advice

Ryu is a tracking and budgeting tool, not a financial, tax, investment, or legal advisor. Insights and forecasts are estimates for your convenience. You are responsible for your own financial decisions.

8. Availability

We work to keep Ryu available and reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service. We may perform maintenance, and features may occasionally change or be unavailable.

9. Disclaimer of warranties

The service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability, and non-infringement, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Ryu and its providers are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits or data. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service will not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

11. Termination

You may stop using Ryu and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these terms or to protect the service and its users. On termination, your right to use the service ends, and data is handled per the Privacy Policy.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the service evolves. When we make material changes, we will update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms.
